BCI TMMS® Release 2.0 Unveiled
The long awaited TMMS® Release 2.0 has been unveiled by BCI for global customers. With the Release 2.0, TMMS® has broken some really long-standing sound barriers in BPO Talent Management standards. As reported earlier, The Release 2.0 comes with several critical changes that sharpen even further the focus on the Talent Management differences between classic IT firms and those offering BPO services globally. The PRIDEScan® model, that distinguishes the TMMS® remarkably from all other standards, has undergone a major facelift in terms of HOW the 10 Talent Management (‘TM) Junctions are Scanned from the FIVE integral PRIDE perspectives.
As reported earlier, the Release 2.0 has beefed-up theTalent Transformation junction. Several standards have been added to unequivocally enunciate the now well-established need for BPOs to have policies, processes and best practices that creatively facilitate “actual/ real” job enrichment and career growth of employees. Standards-bits have been introduced for the first time to also link talent-transformation and talent-performance effectiveness with hygiene factors and work climate. The stress onTalent Transformation in the new TMMS® Release 2.0 is reflected by the fact that Talent Transformation is now included as an integral TM Quality Junction in both the versions (BTMQ-07® and BTMQ-10®) – to take care of the needs of a rapidly rising “species” of “marquee” BPOs that play in high-value market niches; service big-ticket clients and have workforce with evolved career aspirations.
BCI To “Breed” 10000+ fresh BPO Talents in Kenya
Africa has become a toast for all BCI strategic thinkers lately, ever since the Africa chapter of the BCI Mission Million! Initiative was launched early this year. Notably, BCI and its partners aim at creating a pool of 1 million specially trained and certified fresh BPO talents worldwide by 2012 and Africa alone should contribute about 30% of it. In fact, Africa is on a roll and BPO is spurring the hitherto sad, green continent out of its historical darkness.
With the same grit, determination and courage that the gazelles, zebras and wildbeest of Maasai Mara display in their fabled annual migration across the raging Mara river, Kenya is all set to take on giants South Africa and Egypt in BPO in a big way. BCI in active cooperation with the Kenyan BPO and Contact Center Society (KBCCS) and its authorized Certification Training Provider partner in the country, is executing plans to “breed” at least 10000 fresh BPO talents for the Kenyan BPO industry by 2010-11.
Under the dynamic leadership of Ms. Gilda Odera, the chairperson of KBCCS and with complete support of the Kenyan government; BCI and its authorized Certification Training Provider – African BPO Academy (ABA) will initiate BPO Employability enhancement campaign across major Kenyan universities and colleges. These students will be specially trained for various domains of BPO through the world’s most unique and complete BPO training programs and then certified/ credentialed by BCI after they have passed the Certification examinations.
With such extensive support from the KBCCS and the Kenyan government and an exceptional base of raw-talents, Kenya is well-poised to make a mark on the 150 billion US Dollars global BPO industry.

As is already known, under Mission Million!, BCI and its Certification Training Provider Partners worldwide will create a pool of million fresh BPO/KPO Talents by 2012. On another front, BCI and NIITUniqua are working to give shape to another ambitious plan for developing BPO employability among the Indian Minorities. In what is a truly gargantuan initiative, Minority Affair Departments of several Indian States are collaborating with BCI and NIITUniqua to develop special vehicles and models and the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India is committed to getting the project implemented across India and ensure that training and development operations can be conducted within campuses of Minority institutions. NIITUniqua and BCI together plan to make employable over 25000 students in colleges across India over the next one year in these largest ever BPO talent and employability development effort conceived by BCI and supported by various state governments in India. BCI targets credentialing 3000+ Team Leaders & Operations Managers in Philippines.
BCI’s last year’s initiatives to develop front-line leaders and managerial talents in the mature BPO industries of countries like India and Philippines have begun seeping in well and sure now. In Philippines alone, BCI and ApexGlobal, BCI’s appointed Certification Training Provider partner for the country, have commenced their exercise to develop a new legion of 3000+ sharp, specially credentialed BPO Team-leads and Managers. For instance, since the start of 2009, more than a dozen BPOs including Aegis PeopleSupport,Sencor,Etelecare,AIG and VXI have participated in various ApexGlobal Master Classes founded on BCI’s CBTS® (Certified BPO Team Lead Specialist) and CBOM® (Certified BPO Operations Manager) credentialing/ certification programs.
As is common knowledge Indian, Filipino and indeed most European call centers and BPO companies are battling with a “middle-management” crisis – paucity of mature, rightly competent supervisors, frontline leaders and managers weakening the very vertebrae of their organizations. BCI and its Certification Training Provider partner in Philippines- ApexGlobal are determined to help the industry tide over this debilitating challenge and expand this initiative into the neighboring Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and even Singapore.
